Photography 101 Class # 2

Jennifer Ayala Cosgrove.
Jennifer received an overwhelming amount of votes for her amazing image. I still remember her opening line when introducing herself to the class. It went something like this, "My name is Jennifer Cosgrove and I'm prepared to lose!". Well Jennifer even while struggling at first, I must say, you did an amazing job and the image is outstanding. All the images were creative, different and unique, but there was something special about yours and you deserve and big YEAH!

Our second "Amateur Photography 101" class was held today and we are proud to say they did a GREAT job with our model, Jackie. Being child #3 isn't always easy, but Eloise (weise- pronounced Wee-see) has ABSOLUTELY no issues with it at all. She's ALL smiles:) all the time!


and "my" Lalo. I've been photographing this munchkin since he was weeks old. He's now a very handsome intelligent "BIG" boy!

CONGRATULATIONS TO SUSIE FERNANDEZ BERNAL.

She was the most nervous of all the students coming into the studio, knowing she only had 10 minutes to set up the shots. She quickly requested the mirror and created a uniqueness that obviously stood out. With 40% of the votes, Susie has been awarded the intermediate photography class at no charge!!! You go girl!

Our Photography Class headed off to an awesome start! We gathered a wonderful group of ladies, who I must say, SURPRISED me greatly. With the pressure of all this, they managed to create some ABSOLUTELY spectacular images.

UDS Expands...

We have been so blessed...and today, we are happy to announce that UDS has outgrown its current studio and will be relocating. After only a year and a few months, we have had to make a decision that hasn't been easy. We love the "new" space we're currently in. It was decorated with the idea of making it a home, since so much time is spent there and after all the remodeling, it will be hard to leave:( The good news is that we will be moving into a HOME right on Bird Road, taking us back to where it all began. Our first storefront studio was on 63rd and Bird and guess where we're moving back to? Yes, 63rd and Bird. This time it's a HOME with plenty of room for all the girls, some viewing rooms, 2 consult/lounge areas, 3 shooting rooms and 3 bathrooms! I will be posting photographs during the construction process and then of (my personal favorite phase)...the decorating. Looking forward to creating beautiful memories for all of you on BIRD in January '09!

Photography 101

Facebook???? A few months ago, I had no idea what it was, except what I had heard from my children....Then, a client suggested we create a group and we did. We had no idea what a success it would be...so much so, that shortly thereafter the comments and questions began to bombard our inbox. Where do I set my camera for action shots, where can I take my camera for cleanings, what lights should I purchase, do you know of an editing software....and the list of questions, goes on and on.
So, here's what we decided : Once a month, we will hold amateur photography classes here at our studio. The class is limited to 6 ladies and will include lunch, but most of all, we will be able to answer all the questions, and teach many how to use their equipment and create beautiful images. The ladies will also shoot a session and edit it during class. I plan to post the best images from each student and have you, our faithful bloggers, vote on your favorites.
We are so excited to be offering photography101 and expect it to be a lot of fun!

Maya's Comp Shoot

I started shooting Maya when she was just days old. they grow sooooooooooooo fast. This beautiful little girl is now 5 (going on 20) and it only takes the sound of the lights going off to trigger her next pose. She's a pro and she's not shy about it!
